"Life + Debt" a documentary by Stephanie Black about the history of Jamaica (based on the book "A Small Place" by Jamaica Kincaid, which takes place in Antigua) chronicles the attempts of "third" world countries attainment of independence by borrowing from countries who colonized them, or their allies. This documentary is not a testimony against one country in particular, it is more document of a global collusion that shows the early onset of globalization.
In the documentary, "inhuman" work is the capital that countries barter in. If the inhumans, in one country, ask for too much (like a "living" wage of $30.00 a week in Jamaica, while working six-days a week) you first fire the inhumans complaining about the wages. Then the architects bring in other inhumans to work for the wage that the complaining inhumans were asking for.
If the inhumans, in that country, become angry because they have been replaced by other "imported" inhumans and start retaliating by trying to shut down the plant that has made them "jobless" the architects then uproot the operation and move it to another country where the "inhumans" are more ignorant of their "being". These steps can happen more than once.
This doc is also a forecaster of the future of the United States produce. The reason I say this is because of the steps that are taken in this documentary in Jamaica are some of the same steps that have occurred in this country.
It began with the transferring of jobs from the U.S. to Mexico, then to Asian diaspora. Along with the moving of jobs (due to Union demands and Republican/Democratic interference) there was a realignment of job wages, reduction of benefits, increase of work-time and a boom of profits for corporations (and their shareholders) involved in the trade of inhuman capital. This began with Reagan busting the air traffic controllers union, continued with Clinton and N.A.F.T.A. and is continuing with the interjecting of the Republican Gov. of Tennessee in the unionizing of a Volkswagon plant in Chatanooga saying it would affect "The funding of the state...".
There was a time in this country that the wasting of milk/cheese/butter was buried or left to spoil rather than giving it to people.
Here's the proof to show what they used to do:

This is what WalMart has done to the u.s. economy, and they aren't finished messing with it yet. The U.S. populace crave cheap, imported goods regardless of what workers it hurts in this country's economy.
There are numerous other examples that I won't go into, but they should be evidently clear by the end of the documentary. It is something that you should not miss.
